Understanding the TikTok Shop: A Game-Changer for E-Commerce
Most of you already know what the TikTok Shop is, but just to make sure we’re all on the same page, let’s quickly break down what’s going on here. The TikTok Shop is a brand new platform from TikTok themselves where people can start buying products. Just like when they go to Amazon to buy a camera or a case, or go to Walmart, right now they can buy directly from the TikTok app itself. They’re basically trying to compete with Amazon and other major online retailers, especially because they already have all the customers and users on their platform. This presents a big advantage for them, as most people who shop online are already posting videos and using their app. But it also gives you a big opportunity to start making money from their shop by posting 60-second videos and promoting products that people were going to buy anyways. This is a hot market right now, guys, and people are making thousands of dollars per week doing it. Today, I’m going to show you exactly how to get started step by step. Setting Up Your TikTok Shop Affiliate Account
Next, I’m going to show you how to request a free product from the shop that you can start making money from. But first, let me show you how to create your shop account so you can actually make money from this strategy. You’re going to have two different options for this. Number one is inside the TikTok app itself. So go ahead and open up the app, log into your account, then click on the menu button at the very top. Then click on Creator Tools at the bottom. After that, scroll to the left-hand side and click on TikTok Shop for Creators. Inside of here, you’ll be able to request an affiliate account once you meet the requirements. All you have to do is meet their community guidelines by posting nice videos, then have at least 5,000 followers, and be at least 18 years or older. Now, if you don’t meet the requirements, I’m going to show you a second strategy to create your account. But if you already have a TikTok account with followers that you’ve been posting on, all you have to do is open up your account and click on Creator Tools to request your free affiliate account. So go ahead and do that if you have access inside of your app. Your second option, if you don’t have 5,000 followers, is to go online. You might be able to do this from your smartphone, but I recommend using a computer; it’s going to be much easier. Just go to Google, search for TikTok Shop, then click on the first website that pops up: “Sell More on TikTok.” Inside of here, you’ll be able to create a shop account that gives you access to an affiliate account by filling out some in-depth information. You’ll enter your email, name, and give them a little background info just to make sure you’re a legit person. The main thing they’re trying to do is avoid bots or spammers that create multiple accounts. Under business type, click on “Individual,” then click on “Next.” You’ll have to submit an ID verification again just to make sure you’re a real person and not a bot. I know this is a lengthy process, guys, but it’s going to give you a free account to all of these products you can start making money from. So go ahead and set up your free TikTok shop account. Now you have your account set up and access to all the products you can make money from.
Requesting a Free Product from the TikTok Shop
Next, I’m going to show you how to request a free product from the shop that you can start making money from. To do this, open up the TikTok app, click on the menu at the very top, then click on Creator Tools. After that, scroll down and click on TikTok Shop for Creators, and you’ll see all these different products pop up. Click on “Go to Product Marketplace,” and that will show you all the products you can start promoting and earning money from. Click on one of the products, and if you see the “Get Free Sample” option pop up, that’s the product available. Go through the products, pick one that you might actually use or one that you can easily start creating videos around. Click on “Get Free Sample,” then select the color you want, and click on “Request.” Inside of here, enter your address so they can send you a free product. But if you look at the very bottom, there are some requirements. Once you receive the product, you have to post a video within the first week of getting it. There are some other details, like 17 days of the seller shipping out the sample, 30 days of the seller shipping out, and 12 days after you receive the product. There will be requirements for getting a free sample, where you’ll have to create videos about it as soon as you receive the product. Once you start posting videos and promoting it, that’s when you’re going to start getting paid a commission.
Creating Compelling Videos for TikTok Shop Products
Next, I want to quickly go over how to set up your videos so you can start making money from them. Often, when people get these products, they don’t know how to record them or set up a video to actually make sales. Here’s exactly how to do it. You’re going to use a formula called the “Hook, Story, Offer” created by one of the biggest online marketers around the world, Russell Brunson. Inside of this formula, you’ll use it to get people’s attention, tell them a quick story about the product, and present them an offer they can’t resist so you can actually make money from this. First, hook people in with an interesting fact, point, or pain they’re having that you can help them solve using your product. After you hook them, give them a story of why your product has helped or how your product is going to help them to make their life easier by showing results and examples. Finally, give them the offer so they can actually buy the product and you can start earning commissions. Let me show you a few examples.
Example 1: Ear Cleaner
I know the person who made this video specifically has made over $50,000 from this one single product. Let’s see exactly how they set it up. Number one, they hook people in by showing an interesting fact. Play the video.
“All right, guys. You see it right there? They’re pointing out an interesting fact that’s getting people’s attention right away or what they shouldn’t be doing with a product. Instead of using that product, they can actually use this, which is obviously the product that they’re trying to promote and make money from.”
They’re showing people how this product can help clean their ears and why it’s a better option than using traditional Q-tips. At the very end, they’re promoting this product and letting people know how they can actually get it for $20 on TikTok right now.
Example 2: Cord Organizer
Here’s another example. Hooking people in with a problem: “Has anybody had this problem where they’re inside their car and the cord is going everywhere? So instead of having that issue, they can start using this brand-new product that’s going to collect the cord once they’re done using it.” Showing people their brand-new product that’s the solution.
Example 3: Retro Camera
“Do you like retro photos like this? Then you’ve got to get one of these.”
Giving people visions of what their life could look like or how they can start taking cool pictures with their friends. Promoting the product and letting them know it’s on sale for a limited time. So, once you actually get your free sample and you’re ready to promote it, use this formula to start selling any product you want.
Additional Tips to Help Your Videos Go Viral
I want to give you a few additional tips to help your videos go viral. The first one is using the TikTok Creative Center. Go to Google, search for “Creative Center,” then scroll down and click on the second website that pops up: Creative Center from TikTok. This is from TikTok themselves, where they’re going to show you all the newest trends, hashtags, songs, and videos that are going viral right now.
